This piece is about anorexia, and how it has become so popular among so many of us...It is a serious thing and is literally killing people.
Pro-ana sites aren't too helpful either...and people that keep their "thinspirational" photos of people who have starved themselves half to death... so...let this be your thinspiration.
I'm not just one more person looking at, and judging people for anorexia, having never delt with the experience. I've struggled off and on with eating disorders (anorexia) for years.
I think I'm fine now, and I hope to keep it that way.
Anorexia is a really, really serious illness.
The pain one puts themselves through while being anorexic is literally agonizing...To have a continuous empty feeling in your stomach, and pains that hurt horribly bad, just to be "thin", like the world wants you to be...it's horrible.
I've woken up before, and felt completely weak; I've woken up shaking from being hypoglycemic.
but anyway...IF you have an eating disorder...please get help...It's a serious thing, and should not ever be taken lightly. It can kill you, and has horrible effects on your body.
When will the media learn that most men don't even LIKE to see or hold women that thin?! Granted, lots of men have been conditioned by the media--but most of the ones I actually know care as much or more about a woman's soul as whether she looks like a Cosmopolitan model.
i really like this piece, i can really tell where you're coming from. and you're right about anorexia. the only real "critique" type thing i have to say is that i think there are too few ribs.. but its still an amazing piece, i don't think the number of ribs is especially important here. great job!!
yeah, i suggest getting a couple anatomy books. i did and it REALLY helps, it makes it a lot easier to picture movements in your mind to draw figures without having a model.
lol...I had trouble w/ the bones and all...I didn't really know what they'd really look like!
I'm glad to hear that you're better.
Pop culture puts too high of depends on people being thin...Instead, we should try to be HEALTHY.
